Leadership Development
Peer Coaching
Peer coaching is an effective yet low-cost alternative to 1:1 coaching that works well with groups that are going through leadership development programs together. It takes place through facilitated or self-directed sessions in which participants use coaching methodology to provide coaching to each other.
It works because different people tend to have different strengths and blind spots with respect to skills as well as organizational knowledge, and the technique we use brings out all the “answers in the room”. The process is designed to ensure accountability with respect to people taking action after the fact. An added benefit is typically high levels of camaraderie that develop through the shared experience.
Facilitated Peer Coaching
Facilitated peer coaching combines the benefits of working with a trained coach with the benefits of soliciting specific ideas from people who work in the same organization. It is both time and cost-effective and tends to create high levels of camaraderie through the sharing that occurs. We use a specific technique to facilitate the meetings that maximizes idea generation and accountability. The length of a peer coaching meetings is typically 15 minutes per group member.
